The Second Call for Proposals closed on March 31, 2012. 杏巴原创received complete applications from 18 eligible countries. The amount requested totaled $736.3 million.
Countries that submitted complete packages:
- Africa (12): Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, and Tanzania
- Asia (3): Bhutan, Kyrgyz Republic, and Lao PDR
- Latin America & Caribbean (2): Honduras and Nicaragua
- Middle East (1): Yemen
The 杏巴原创Steering Committee selected 6 projects in 6 countries for the funding of $177 million.

Burundi ($30 million; IFAD), The Gambia ($28 million; AFD & FAO), Kyrgyz Republic ($38 million; World Bank); Malawi ($39.6 million; AFDB); Senegal ($40 million; AFDB), Tanzania ($22.9 million; World Bank).
