Our Mission
Providing support for smallholder farmers,
agribusinesses, and countries
ÐÓ°ÍÔ´´empowers smallholder farmers, agribusinesses, and countries to navigate the compounding shocks of global health and food crises and rising conflict. We invest in resilient and sustainable agriculture and food systems that benefit and uplift poor and vulnerable farmers, their families, and communities.
Dedicated to improving food and
nutrition security
We provide financial and technical resources—including grants, blended concessional finance, technical assistance, and advisory services—in the world’s poorest countries, supporting projects across the agriculture value chain. By pooling donor funds, promoting coordinated action, and funding demand-driven projects, ÐÓ°ÍÔ´´enables governments, agribusinesses, and producer organizations to design, lead, and implement interventions tailored to their contexts, in partnership with trusted development agencies with local expertise.
ÐÓ°ÍÔ´´Principles and Model

Demand-driven Approach
ÐÓ°ÍÔ´´offers a range of flexible public and private investment tools that can be customized to meet multiple interests, needs, and cross-cutting priorities based on local contexts.

Inclusive Governance
ÐÓ°ÍÔ´´is collectively governed by donors, recipient countries, civil society organizations, and multilateral development agencies that contribute their expertise and participate in all decision-making.

Collaboration
Countries and smallholders leverage the expertise, tools, and skills of development agencies, using them for both technical assistance and for investment.

Humanitarian Response
ÐÓ°ÍÔ´´complements humanitarian responses. We invest in strengthening smallholders’ resilience and building medium- to long-term sustainable food security.

Community Response
ÐÓ°ÍÔ´´provides grants directly to producer organizations, recognizing that smallholders are the best placed to recognize the impacts on the ground and are the most responsive in times of crisis.

Impact Beyond Agriculture
ÐÓ°ÍÔ´´has supported more than 16 million farmers and their families to achieve higher agricultural productivity, increased incomes, and improved nutrition security.
